Xinaliq is a historic Caucasian village high in the Great Caucasus mountains. It is a village with an ethnically distinct people with their own unique language, habits, and culture. The village is called the land where hena (the plant) grows because at sunrise and sunset the surrounding mountains turn the color of hena.
There there are lots of possible trips around Xinaliq, but the following are two recommended itineraries. The first trip is for 2 days and the second for 4 days. These two trips start from Guba. Transportation from
Day 1: 2 hour drive from
Day 2: After breakfast, travel to Ateshgah (eternal flame) by horse or foot (your choice). Have tea and a small lunch by the ancient holy site which is beautifully situated higher up the mountains with fantastic views. After lunch, travel back to Xinaliq with a short side trip to the historic "Mugan Pir". In Xinaliq, have dinner and then travel to Guba along an alternate route (Qalarudate).
